INAPA, the Irish National Au Pair Association is an affiliate of IAPA, the International Au Pair Association. This website includes a list of INAPA members and the standards you should expect from members of INAPA.

The aims of INAPA are as follows:

  1. To achieve high standards in the Au Pair industry in Ireland, both for families taking au pairs and the au pairs themselves.
  2. To promote agencies that comply with these standards
  3. To represent the Au Pair industry in Ireland

Standards you may expect from INAPA members

As a family hosting an au pair:

  • Courteous and efficient handling of customers.
  • Assessment of needs and suitability for hosting an au pair.
  • Vetting of au pairs either personally or through reputable partner agencies.
  • Guidance on how to welcome an au pair.
  • Written Terms of Business, including details of fees.
  • Full information on candidates including a completed application form, a letter of introduction, 2 written references, up to date police check and medical report.
  • On-going support during the period of the au pairs stay.
As an Au Pair:
  • Guidance on how to make the most of the au pair experience.
  • Full written details of the host family, pocket money and expected duties prior to arrival.
  • Contact numbers of other au pairs.
  • On-going support during your stay with the family.
  • Your own private room.
